Lake County runs on the work of a few dozen dedicated institutions — nonprofits, churches, civic boards, volunteer crews, business associations, the school district, the city, the county. Most of them need people. The way you usually find them is by knowing somebody who knows somebody, which doesn't help much if you're new.
That's what this site is for. It's a directory of those institutions, and a way to be matched personally to one or two that fit what you have to offer and what you're looking for.
Three ways to start
1. Browse the directory. Forty-plus Lake County institutions are listed on this site, organized by what they do — community services, environment and recreation, arts and heritage, education, faith communities, business, local government. Pick one that interests you and reach out directly.

2. Get matched personally. If you'd rather have someone help you figure out where to start, fill out the short form below. Tell us a little about who you are, what you're good at, and what you're curious about. We'll send you two or three specific suggestions within a week — actual organizations, actual people to email, with context.

3. Follow along on socials. We post regularly on Instagram — posts on Lake County organizations and what's currently going on across the county: volunteer slots, board seats, mentorship needs, donation opportunities. It's the lowest-commitment way to start. You'll get a feel for who's doing what in Lake County you'll see timely opportunities as they come up.
